A&M Bakery specialty breads are baked with our Hearth and Soul.
Since 1945, A&M Bronx Baking has been specializing in traditional, contemporary and custom breads from product development to delivery.
History
A question I get continually, is ” So you Andolinos are the A in A&M”. Truth be told, we are not. A&M was actually founded in 1890 by the Amato family in the Baychester section of the Bronx. The Amatos were from Naples, Italy. Their style of baking formed the basis of what is now know as Bronx Style Italian Bread. So to put it in perspective, A&M has been continually baking for 125 years! That is 363 days a year, seven days a week or 45,375 days! We close Christmas and New Year’s day.
In 1945, The Amato family partnered with the Manna family as A&M Bakery. We purchased A&M in 1985. We built a larger Bakery in 1993 and expanded the business to offer Bronx Bread all over the U.S.(and even the Caribbean!) We remain true to our roots offering breads baked on a hearth in a brick-lined ovens. We produce the original product line as well as products requested by a evolving marketplace. We are proud to be the “go to baker” for many restaurant chains who want their bread to be one step above the rest.
So if you are a transplanted New Yorker and crave a wedge from the old neighborhood, Give us a call. We would be happy to help you get a delivery.
